A officer stopped Jacob Rede (21) for no license plates on his vehicle. Rede stopped, but immediately fled on foot with the officer in foot pursuit. Rede ran onto Ragsdale then began jumping fences westbound. Citizens notified officers of Rede's direction. Officers located him hiding near E. Market Street and he ran again. Rede was cornered in an apartment complex on N. Madiera where he was held at gunpoint until other officers could arrive and take Rede into custody. Rede was found to be on felony probation with a search and seizure waiver. He lied about his address, but officers were able to identify his residnece. During a search of his residence officers located a 22 caliber rifle in his bedroom. The rifle had the grip sawed-off, but the barrel was of legal length. While searching Rede's vehicle officers located a small amount of marijuana. Rede was booked for felon in possession of a firearm, gang member in possession of a firearm, felony probation violation, possession of marijuana, driving on suspended license, expired registration and resisting arrest.
